There are plenty of restaurants in New York, but which ones have a real Christmas feel? We counted 4 best and unmissable Christmas-themed restaurants in New York and we will present them to you here below.
Rolf’s German Restaurant is the most famous and well-known Christmas-themed restaurant in all of New York: it is full of decorations: on the walls, on the roof, on the counter… Everywhere.
Rolf’s German Restaurant is located in Midtown East, within walking distance (about 20 minutes) of the Empire State Building or the Flatiron Building (about 8 minutes).
The menu is typically German. You can find Wuster and Sauerkraut, beers, various kinds of meat and other specialties from Germany.
The interesting thing is that the restaurant is decorated like this throughout the year, whether it is the Christmas season or not. So even if you come to New York, for example, in September and want to immerse yourself in a Christmas atmosphere, here is the solution!
If you can’t find a table at Rolf’s German Restaurant, here’s a great alternative for a Christmas-themed restaurant in New York.
Papillon Bistro and Bar is located a very short walk (less than a 4-minute walk) from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, so right in the center of New York’s Christmas and tourist area.
They take reservations, the menu is varied, and in our opinion the food and drinks are better than the ones at Rolf’s German Restaurant.
The Christmas decorations are less obtrusive than those of its “German competitor”, but at the same time extremely beautiful.
We visited this place the last Christmas Season (you will find a reel on our Instagram page @MyChristmasinNewYork) and we will definitely be back this year too!
With 2 locations, one in Union Square and one in the Times Square area, Lillie’s Victorian proves to be one of the best places to dine while enjoying a fantastic Christmas spirit.
We recommend the Times Square location because it has fantastic Christmas-themed decorations (one of the best in New York) and is only a few minutes walk from where our Christmas tour starts and ends. Keep it in mind as a great option for an end-of-tour dinner.

Lillie’s Victorian, as well as Papillon, also allows you to make reservations online at their site.
Again, as at Papillon’s, the menu is extensive, with small appetizer and main dishes ranging from Hamburgers, Stakes and Frites, Seafood Paste and more.
Last but not least in our selection of the best Christmas-Themed Restaurants in New York is Oscar Wilde.
Within walking distance of the Flatiron Building (7-minute walk) or the Empire State Building (9-minute walk) you will find another restaurant with beautiful Christmas decorations.
Its name is Oscar Wilde and it is located at the intersection of 27th Street and 6th Avenue.
The menu is very similar to Papillon’s and Lillie’s Victorian (they are in fact part of the same management) and it too is decorated in a very special way during the holiday season.
Our favorite dishes on the menu are: Organic Grilled Chicken (27$), Wilde Bacon Cheeseburger (23$) and Steak & Frites (35$). You can find the full menu clicking HERE.
Have a look at the section Holiday and Furnishings in their Gallery to have an idea of the interior of the restaurant during the Holiday Season.
In our opinion these are the top 4 restaurants in Manhattan where you can breathe in a great Christmas atmosphere amidst decorations and theme music. Try them and let us know what you think.
