Today we’re answering a question we get so many times on our instagram page My Christmas in New York:
When does the Christmas season start in NYC?
Since when are there Christmas decorations around the city?
The answer to this question is very simple and pragmatic.
The Holiday Season in NYC officially starts the day after Thanksgiving.
To give you a practical example, this year Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 24.
As of Friday, November 25, we can say that the holiday season officially begins.
What does this mean in practice? It means that from that date you will find more and more new Christmas decorations around the city every day and the city itself officially enters the holiday mood.
That’s exactly why our Christmas Lights Tour starts on Friday, November 25. A unique and fantastic tour that takes you from Times Square to Dyker Heights & D.U.M.B.O. in Brooklyn, on a private bus, and returns to Times Square 4 hours later.
So if you are planning to come to NYC during Thanksgiving Weekend, we strongly recommend you to check out our Christmas Lights Tour.
For the first time this year you can choose between 2 options:
General Tickets
The first is to join our Christmas Lights Tour on the same top-notch bus we’ve used in past years: on-board bathroom, outlets to charge your phone and heating.

Luxury Tickets
The second is to join our Luxury Christmas Lights Tour which has exactly the same itinerary as the “general” version but is offered on a Luxury Mini-Bus with a panoramic glass roof and accommodates a maximum of 16 people. A truly exclusive experience.

Our advice: don’t wait until the last second to make a reservation as there are so many requests for this tour starting from the Thanksgiving weekend.
