We went to visit the Harry Potter store in New York and we think it is a fantastic experience for adults and children, Harry Potter lovers or not.
Where is the Harry Potter store located?
The Harry Potter store is located right behind the Flatiron Building. You can simply walk there if you’re in the Bryant Park, Empire State Building or Madison Square Park area – it’s not far at all.
Do I need to book my visit?
No. You can’t book online. What you need to do is go in front of the store (we were there around 10am, we recommend going early) and scan a QR CODE that will tell you how many people are in front of you. Enter the number of people that make up your group.
Is the wait that long?
We had 43 people in front of us. We asked the store team how long the wait was and they told us about 20 minutes. We then went to get a coffee at one of the many places around Madison Square Park and then returned.
How do I know when it's my turn?
You have to refresh the page you scanned your QR CODE with and when it’s your turn the background will change from red to green. That’s the right moment to enter the Harry Potter Store in New York
What is the in-store experience like?
Fantastic. Unique. If you love Harry Potter it’s perfection. There are so many gift ideas for adults and children. In this period there is also a collection of clothes dedicated to Christmas.
Is there also a bar inside the store?
Yes, and among other things you can also taste the Butter Beer! It costs $10 a glass, so we suggest you grab one and share it with the others in your group: it’s super sweet, tastes like caramel and sparkling water, is non-alcoholic (obviously) and is a great way to end your visit to the store.
