The 2023 Lights and Sounds show of Saks Fifth Avenue will officially start on Tuesday, November 21^st, 2023. The opening ceremony is always spectacular. In fact, you can expect VIPs and fireworks. In 2022 the special guests was Elton John!

The show is offered daily from November 21^st, 2023 to early January 2024

What time does the Saks Fifth Avenue Lights Show start?

The 2023 Saks Fifth Avenue show starts every day at 5 p.m. and is offered regularly until midnight

How often does the Saks Fifth Avenue Lights Show play?

The show is always repeated at regular intervals of about 10 minutes. Hence, if you arrive in front of Saks Fifth Avenue and see no show, do not leave. You just have to wait a few minutes and then the 2023 Saks Fifth Avenue show will start again.

How long does the 2023 Saks Fifth Avenue Show last?

Approximately 5 minutes. The songs, lights and choreography is repeated at regular intervals every day

Blackout Dates

The show is there every day except for 2 dates. The first is the day of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting. Hence, to avoid additional gatherings on 5th Avenue, the show is canceled on that date. The second is on Christmas Eve. As a result, in 2023 the Saks Fifth Avenue Show will not be there on November 29 and December 24.

Tips for the ultimate experience

Get there early. the show starts at 5 p.m. Already at that time you will find a lot of people in front of the department store but never more than later in the evening. For example, around 7 or 8 p.m. is the biggest gathering in front of Saks Fifth Avenue
Get there late. as an alternative to arriving around 5 p.m., you can consider seeing the show around 10 or 11 p.m. A lot of tourists by that time are already back at the hotel.
Dress well and warm. The show is outside and temperatures in NYC during the holiday season can be really cold. Consequently, prepare some warm clothes and enjoy the show
Change perspective. The 2023 Saks Fifth Avenue Show lasts about 5 minutes and after 10 minutes it is replayed. Consequently, what I recommend is to watch it from 2 different points. One maybe near St. Patrick Cathedral so you can catch it from the side. The other right in front of the department store. Get ready to record some great videos!
