The best Christmas houses in NYC (besides Dyker Heights)

Dyker Heights Christmas Lights House Lucy Spata

Winter Wonderland in Queens, New York

New York has the most beautifully decorated houses for Christmas in the entire United States of America. Today I am not only talking about Dyker Heights and its Christmas Lights Displays. That would be too obvious.

We all know the Dyker Heights neighborhood, Lucy Spata’s house and her Christmas Lights are world famous. Every year, starting Thanksgiving weekend, this Brooklyn neighborhood is decorated with millions of colorful lights. Among the holiday displays in nyc, this is the most famous one!

This is why my Dyker Heigths & DUMBO Christmas Tour takes you on a tour of these Christmas decorations during the holiday season.

Today though, in this article in my NYC BLOG, I want to tell you about 3 more beautiful houses decorated with hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights. These 3 houses are not in Brooklyn, but rather in Queens, New York.

Getting to them by transportation is not easy, but I will also try to explain how to do it. So let’s get ready and go discover the best Christmas houses in New York City.

After this brief introduction, let’s now go on to discover the best Christmas houses in New York, besides the houses in Dyker Heights.

If you want to get 100 percent into the Holiday Spirit and see beautiful Christmas lights in NYC, then you must pay a visit to the Moffadderi House in Queens.

Tony Moffarderi has been decorating his home for Christmas for over 30 years.

This beautiful house is located in Howard Beach in Queens.

The exact location is at the intersection of 97th Street and 165th Avenue.

The best way to get here by public transportation is to take the A subway to the Howard Beach/JFK Station stop. From there you then have to walk for about 20 minutes.

Little North Pole Christmas Lights New York Queens House

Little North Pole: Winter Wonderland in Rockaway Beach

Address: 144-03 Neponsit Ave, Queens, NY 11694, USA

Joe Mure, the owner of this beautiful home in Rockaway Beach, Queens, loves to fill everyone who passes by his home with Christmas joy.

Christmas trees, holiday decorations, Elves, Santa’s helpers and colorful lights await you in this Winter Wonderland.

For the past several years, the Little North Pole has earned a reputation as the best Christmas house in Queens, New York.

What I like most about the Little North Pole is that all the money received from visitors goes to charity. In fact, all proceeds from Christmas lights are donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Getting to the Little North Pole in Rockaway Beach by public transportation is not at all easy. In fact, this is a residential neighborhood and unfortunately there are no subway stops nearby.

Therefore, if you want to see the Little North Pole Christmas lights, it is necessary to have a car.

The best Christmas Houses in Queens New York

Community Chiropractic: the best Christmas House in Whitestone

Address: 199-04 22nd Ave, Queens, NY 11357, USA

Another house in Queens worth visiting during the Christmas season is Community Chiropractic in Whitestone.

Again, all donations received from visitors come to good use. In fact, they are donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Also, in mid-December, Santa Claus also comes on a Saturday to greet the children who visit this Christmas home in New York.

Getting here by public transportation is not easy but it is possible. One has to take the 7 subway towards Queens and then the Q31 bus. The bus stop is about a 10-minute walk from this beautiful Christmas house.

Conclusion

I hope this article from my NYC BLOG gives you inspiration to visit the best Christmas houses in New York. As you could understand it is not easy to reach them by public transportation, being in residential places in Queens.
