3 Best Rooftop Bars around Times Square

The Discover NYC Team has selected for you the 3 Best Rooftop Bars in the Times Square Area.

Since choosing is never easy, especially in NYC, given the huge range of possibilities, the selection criteria we used are the following:

Walking distance from Times Square

Since most of you choose a Hotel in the Times Square Area, we have chosen 3 locations that are within easy walking distance from Times Square, so you don’t have problems going back to the hotel even if you are late at night.

Quality of the view

A good rooftop is in our opinion a mix of services, location but also (and especially) a unique view of the city from high. The 3 Rooftops that we have chosen for you offer a beautiful view of Times Square and its lights from above.

Quality of drinks

Accompanying a beautiful view of the city while sipping a good drink is a perfect combination. Do you agree with us?

Based on these 3 criteria, here is the selection of the 3 best Rooftop in Times Square area:

Beast & Butterflies – MSocial Hotel

Beasts and Butterflies, the rooftop bar of the MSocial Hotel, offers one of the most beautiful views of the world’s most famous square.

You will find it just a few steps from the famous Red Steps in Times Square, at the intersection of Broadway and 52nd Street.

Here you can either eat in the restaurant or simply have a drink accompanied by some “social bites” on their rooftop terrace.

The cocktails cost 18$ and among these the ones that have impressed us the most are the “Rooftop Celebrations” (Seasonal Spritz featuring both apple and pear brandies. The Belle de Brillet is Cognac based and sweetened naturally with French pears) and the “Broadway Breeze” (A seasonal take on a unique, Irish Whiskey-based Tiki-like presentation)

TRAVEL TIP 👉🏼 Don’t forget that our “MANHATTAN IN LIGHTS – LUXURY GUIDED NIGHT TOUR” ends just steps away from this Rooftop Bar. So many of our guests, after participating to our night tour, come here to have a drink and end the night on a high note.

Bar 54 at Hyatt Centric Times Square

Literally a 2-minute walk from Times Square’s Red Steps, this rooftop bar can in its own way be compared to a panoramic observatory. Why? Because it is located on the 54th floor and offers exclusive views of the city and some of its main landmarks, such as the Chrysler Building.

Besides having a superlative location (it is located on 45th Street between 7th and 6th avenue) and a fantastic view, this rooftop bar also offers a list of cocktails designed by the famous mixologist Julie Rener.

ST CLOUD ROOFTOP AT KNICKERBOCKER HOTEL

A place full of personality, the St. Cloud Rooftop is a great place to visit any time of the afternoon or night.

The rating for the location is absolutely 10/10: at the intersection of 42nd Street and Broadway, in the middle of Times Square.

Located in the five-star Knickerbocker Hotel, it offers excellent views of Times Square while providing a relaxed and comfortable place to rest and enjoy the view.

As you can see from the photo above, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the New Year’s Eve ball drop from here.

An exclusive and well-known bar, the St. Cloud has both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to visit in any season (though summers are especially fun).

Signature cocktails, fine wines, craft beers, and even champagne, St. Cloud’s rooftop bar offers great drinks along with the views, and the food is no different, as it has a small but delicious menu that changes with the season.

If that’s not enough, the St. Cloud also has a private cigar lounge, elegant decor, comfortable lounge sofas, and one of the best settings you can find in New York City.
