In NYC there are 2 types of MetroCard:
Both cards cost 1$. Each ride using the Pay-per-ride MetroCard is 2.75$. The unlimited MetroCard costs 33$/7 days.

The choice depends by two factors:
If you spend 6 days in NYC and use the subway 2 times a day, there is no difference in terms of pricing between the 2 options.
In fact: 2 times x 2.75$ per ride x 6 days = $33. This equals the price of the weekly unlimited card.
However, if you spend 7 days in NYC or you plan to use the subway more than twice/day, the unlimited MetroCard could be a good choice.
