Joe's Pizza - The best Pizza Slice in Times Square

Address: 1435 Broadway, New York, NY 10018, United States

Everyone in New York City knows Joe’s Pizza and lists it as the Best Pizza in Times Square. Their specialty? Delicious slices of pizza in perfect New York style. Located at 1435 Broadway, Joe’s is the perfect solution for anyone out and about in NYC who wants to eat something tasty, quick and inexpensive. Plenty of people also eat a slice of pizza at Joe’s before (or after) entering the theater on Broadway.

The cost of a slice of cheese pizza at Joe’s is $4. If you want one with a topping (pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, etc.) the cost is $5 per slice of pizza. Joe’s pizza slices are large: one or at most 2 will satiate you.

Alternatively, if you are a group of more than 2 people, you can get a whole pizza. This consists of 8 slices of equal size. The price is $26 for a cheese pizza or $30 for a pizza with a topping.

If you haven’t already, try Joe’s Pizza and we are sure you too will consider it one of the best pizzas in Times Square. A curiosity: the first location of Joe’s Pizza is not in Times Square, but in Greenwich Village. In fact, due to its tremendous success, Joe’s Pizza has expanded and now has several pizzerias around NYC. If you do not want to find a long line at the entrance, I recommend visiting a Joe’s Pizza location other than the Times Square location.

Capizzi - The real Neapolitan Pizza next to Port Authority NYC

Address: 547 9th Ave, New York, NY 10018, United States

If you are a lover of real Neapolitan pizza (the round one with the high edge) and you are in Times Square, in my opinion one of the best choices is Capizzi.

Capizzi is located within walking distance of Port Authority, the bus station next to Times Square.

Located on 9th Avenue between 40th and 41st Streets, Capizzi is the perfect solution for anyone looking for a pizzeria in NYC before going to see a Broadway show.

Capizzi’s specialty, of course, is its Neapolitan pizza, baked in a wood-fired oven. What I really like is that on their website, in the pizza section of the menu, they write served well done & lightly charred, in perfect Italian style.

Before you bite into a Capizzi pizza, why not try one of their appetizers? Caprese salad, burrata salad or antipasto misto with salumi and cheeses.

For those who don’t like pizza, the restaurant also offers alternatives such as a Caesar salad or chicken parmesan.

The best way to end dinner after eating one of the best pizzas in Times Square? A good dessert. In addition to traditional Italian classics like Tiramisu, Cannoli or Pannacotta, I recommend trying their Nutella pizza or Oreo Truffle Cannoli.

If you are looking for one of the best pizzas in Times Square, try Capizzi on 9th Avenue: you will not regret it!

Don Antonio - The Best wood-fired Pizza in Times Square

Address: 309 W 50th St, New York, NY 10019, United States

Don Antonio in Times Square is the perfect example of Italian culinary excellence in New York City. Their neapolitan pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven imported from Italy and garnished with ingredients from the Italian peninsula.

Giorgia Caporuscio, perhaps the youngest pizzaiola in the United States of America, directs it all, always side by side with her magical wood-fired oven.

Located on the 50th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, Don Antonio is definitely a great choice if you are looking for the Best Pizza in Times Square.

Don Antonio’s does not take reservations. I recommend going up early to avoid long waits.

Among their specialties I suggest you try their fried pizzas like the Montanara. Their fried appetizers are also delicious. They also have gluten free pizza!

Their menu is extraordinarily diverse in terms of Italian ingredients but 100 percent focused on what one is looking for when one wants the Best Pizza in Times Square.

Norma - Sicilian Tradition in Hell's Kitchen NYC

Address: 801 9th Ave, New York, NY 10019, United States

Go to Norma‘s if you are looking for the best pizza in Times Square straight from Sicily, Italy. Here, traditional Italian tastes and flavors mix perfectly with Hell’s Kitchen, a neighborhood just a short walk from Times Square.

Located on 9th Avenue and 53rd Street, Norma’s is another great example of Italian in New York City.

Norma has 2 pizzerias in NYC. The first opened in 2016 in Murray Hills and as of 2021 they have opened a second location in Hell’s Kitchen. At Norma’s you will not only find great pizza prepared with ingredients that come directly from Italy. In their menu, in fact, there are also antipasti and pasta dishes that will transport you straight to Sicily. For wine lovers, you will also find an excellent selection of Sicilian wines here.

So if you find yourself in Hell’s Kitchen and are wondering where to go to find the best pizza in Times Square, try Norma.

Pizzarte - a Neapolitan Pizza next to Central Park

Address: 69 W 55th St, New York, NY 10019, United States

Pizzarte‘s pizza a stone’s throw from Times Square is among the best in NYC. At Pizzarte you will find a real Italian restaurant with Italian waiters. In addition to pizza perfectly cooked in their wood-fired oven, at Pizzarte’s you can also taste some of the pasta dishes that have made the history of Italian cuisine. Among them is the homemade Maccaronarara. I recommend pairing it with a very good amatriciana or cacio e pepe sauce.

The pizzas in the Pizzarte’s menu are divided into two. There are the traditional pizzas such as diavola, romana or capricciosa. Or vegetarian pizzas such as margherita, montanara or burrata. You can also order a gluten free pizza at Pizzarte.

Located on 55th Street between 6th and 5th Avenues, Pizzarte is undoubtedly a great option in the Times Square area for anyone looking for one of the best pizzas in New York. Its proximity to iconic landmarks such as Rockefeller Center or Central Park make it the perfect starting or ending point of a great NYC stroll. Before exploring the Bow Bridge and other Central Park landmarks, stop here for pizza.
